Cloud City was founded on the belief that wholehearted software design and development can better the world. Since 2003, we have been working alongside our clients to shape a better world through knowledge. Becoming a Certified B Corporation is one more way we can inspire other organizations to not just be best in the world, but to be the best for the world.

B corporations are a new type of company designed to encourage businesses to be more accountable in the workplace as a way to bring positive social change to the world. There are over 2,300 Certified B Corps around the globe, including New Resource Bank—our bank that we chose specifically because they’re a B Corp and their support of small business. B Corps, unlike traditional corporations, are required to consider the impact of their decisions on all their stakeholders such as employees, partners, clients, the community, and the environment.

B Corp Certification is like Fair Trade certification but for the whole business, not just a bag of coffee or LEED certification, but not just for a building.

Our journey toward becoming a Certified B Corporation started over two years ago when we took the B Impact Assessment for the first time.

As we changed the way we did business, we had a greater positive impact on the world and our score continued to rise. Today we have a score of 81 points. The median score for most companies is around 55 points out of 200 points possible. We’re excited to continue further refining how we do business and increasing our score.

Take the B Impact Assessment for your organization to benchmark your organization’s social and environmental impact and set goals for continuous improvement. Over 40,000 organizations have. Achieve 80 points and become a B Corporation too! http://bimpactassessment.net/

We’re looking for fulltime and contract software designers and developers to join our team. Send your resume along with a note telling us what change you want to bring to the world to jobs@cloudcity.io.
